Fave Finds: The Food Spot that Hits the Spot

Any one of my friends who knows me, knows that I adore finding good places to eat. And having only been in my current city for less than a year, learning about the good spots is still an ongoing adventure! Embarking on a culinary adventure is always a delightful experience for me, and recently, while going about town looking for thrift stores other than Goodwill, I came across this amazing Caribbean restaurant: Irie Bites Cafe.

I hold Caribbean cuisine very close to heart because the spices and methods of cooking always remind me of Bengali cuisine quite a bit, especially my mother’s hometown’s cuisine. I have tried about half of their menu so far, and I have to say, it is so hard to find a favourite dish because every one of the dishes are amazing and delicious! However, more than the food, I think I love the environment within the cafe more, because it is just so reminiscent of “dhabas” (roadside cafes) from back home, with all the bright decorations, the friendly space, the spices and the chalk-on-blackboard menu. I am so glad I stumbled across this little spot because I know exactly what to do, or rather, which dish to order that would be my perfect pick-me-up for rainy days.
