Hello! My name is Valentina and I’m excited to introduce myself as the newest member of the mindyourmind team.
I graduated from Western University with an Honours in Psychology and a minor in Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Resolution. My passion for youth mental health stems from both personal experience and my years of experience working with youth.
I have had the privilege of working with newcomer youth, helping them develop essential skills, build resiliency, and gain a sense of belonging. Through this experience, I have come to understand the importance of youth mental health and the need for accessible support and resources for mental well-being. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue making a positive impact through my work at mindyourmind.
I personally believe that creating a safe and inclusive environment for young people to share their voice, ideas and concerns is key to improving and implementing need-based resources and services. Along with educating and empowering youth to take an active role in their own mental well-being through understanding their own mental health, implementing self-care practices and learning when and how to reach out for help.
I’m excited to be a part of the mindyourmind team and I am eager to continuing to empower and promote mental health among youth through resources, support and education.
