Being that it’s Black History Month (BHM) this blog submission, The “Why” Behind Black History Month, felt like the perfect throwback. In it, Rachel discusses her learnings and perspective – as a first-generation immigrant from Haiti – on the meaning of and need for BHM. She shares a bit of the origin story for February being the designated month to celebrate and commemorate Black history formally, and she offers some empowering insights about its importance. Please give it a read, and remember that it’s crucial to have these conversations outside of February, too!
mindyourmind has been around for almost two decades, and we have pretty neat stuff in our history. The idea of Throwback Thursdays (#TBT) started because we want to share this past content and some memorable moments too. When it comes to the mental health landscape, some things have stayed the same, while others continue to evolve.
Stay tuned for our next #TBT!
