Support Counselling
The Domestic Violence Program is a psycho-educational program which help clients who display controlling, violent, and abusive behaviors towards their intimate partners. Counselling services are offered to people who have been mandated by the court to attend in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence. This program provides individuals with an opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict in a non-judgmental way and linguistically and culturally appropriate manner. Additionally, clients will have the opportunity to learn essential skills to develop and maintain healthy relationships and healthy environments. Nonetheless, this program provides the required tips on how to set their own boundaries, how to take responsibility of own actions in a constructive and healthy manner, how to deal with present and past issues that affect life, and ways to develop healthy communication and many more healthy skills.
This program provides individual counselling sessions including intake and assessment, curriculum development according to individual needs and assessment, brief interventions, and lifestyle and personal supportive counselling with a focus on helping the clients develop skills to manage their life’s challenges, substance use, mental health issues, and behavior-related problems.
